Difference between mortgage survey and boundary survey?

I've got a quick question, does anyone know the real difference between a mortgage survey and a boundary survey? I've come across both terms quite a bit, but sadly I'm not really sure what distinguishes one from the other, especially regarding their purpose or the level of detail involved. Any insights from those who have experience with this would be really appreciated

When I purchased my first home, I ended up getting both types of surveys. The mortgage survey was mainly for the lender, it was a quick way to make sure the house was in the right spot. On the other hand, the boundary survey provided a lot more detail, it marked the corners of the property and clearly defined the exact property lines. If you're planning to build or put up a fence, definitely go for the boundary survey. But if it's just for closing the deal, a mortgage survey is generally sufficient
